The Graffiti Girl Paintings of Kevin Peterson

The Graffiti Girl Paintings of Kevin Peterson
Sunday February 20, 2011

Kevin Peterson creating a body of work of kids in front of graffiti walss and pieces. He calls them pieces focusing on "trauma, fear and loneliness and the strength that it takes to survive and thrive." We were just going to remark that his re-painting graffiti pieces was quite perfect.

HIs full artist statement around the body of work was "My work is about the varied journeys we take through life. It’s about growing up and living in a world that is broken. These paintings are about trauma, fear and loneliness and the strength that it takes to survive and thrive. They each contain the contrast of the untainted, young and innocent against a backdrop of a worn, ragged, and defiled world."
